Community Involvement & Outreach

The Pink Phoenix™ Dragon Boat Team has become an active player in community efforts to raise awareness about breast cancer.

In addition to paddling, individual team members deliver presentations on breast cancer to interested groups and are involved in breast cancer studies. Several Pinks have been trained to serve as peer mentors for newly diagnosed women.

Every year in September, the Saturday before the Susan G. Komen Foundation's Race for the Cure®, you will find many members of Pink Phoenix™ participating in the Komen Survivors Luncheon and Health Expo. Come meet us in September and learn more about the team. Look for our booth at the Health Expo and see the photo albums that show what a great time we have!

If you know of a group that would be interested in having a Pink Phoenix™ member deliver a presentation on breast cancer awareness, or a newly diagnosed person or other person that a team member could visit to give hope and support, please contact us.
